Zura Nakiwoga Mukasa is a 17 year old student at Nabisunsa Girls School currently in Senior six. She has a great passion for leadership; she is a Judge of the Debate Club, Vice President of the Red Ribbon and the President of Students Council. She loves poetry, has prolific communication skills and always ready to teach other girls to speak and write effectively.

Zura loves reading, global issues, has strong sense of financial literacy, and has clear dreams, goals and a career plan. She is dedicated to community service; through the Rising Stars Mentoring Program, an initiative that grooms young women leaders and entrepreneurs to enable them successfully transit from school into adulthood, Zura started a Mentoring Club at Nabisunsa Girls School to promote peer-mentoring, set up talking compounds and plant trees in the schools.

At 12 years, Zura started an initiative that collects and distributes clothes to less privileged children in the communities. As a Rising Star, she has become a role models for other young women and shows impressive growth and tenacity to learn, she embraces diversity and inclusion and is always eager to learn. These are qualities that are critical for success in the global market, which makes her an exceptional young leader and student. Zura’s dream is to become a lawyer with the UN so that she deals with local and international human right issues. Her mother Rehmah Kasule describes Zura as “the Daughter every parent would love to have.”
